About

Milap joined Clearspring Capital Partners in 2018 and takes a leading role in all aspects of the investment sourcing and execution process, value creation and portfolio management.  He is a Board Director and the lead Asset Manager of Regal and Traditours, and has more than 20 years of operating, private equity, consulting, and mergers & acquisitions experience.  For three years, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Regal, a Canadian market leader in confectionary distribution and freeze pop manufacturing, which has more than tripled in profitability since Milap led Clearspring’s platform acquisition of Regal in late 2020.

Experience

Prior to joining Clearspring, Milap was a senior leader within the strategy & corporate development group at Canadian Tire Corporation (“CTC”), where he worked closely with the executive team across CTC’s ~$15B family of companies (including Canadian Tire Retail, Sport Chek, Mark’s, Gas+, Canadian Tire Bank, and CT REIT).  Prior to that, he worked in management consulting at Bain & Company where he focused on growth strategy, operational improvement, and commercial due diligence engagements within Bain’s North American Private Equity Group.  In addition, Milap’s experience includes several years in private equity and mergers & acquisitions at Birch Hill Equity Partners and CIBC Capital Markets, respectively.

Milap received his HBA from Ivey Business School, BESc (Electrical Engineering) from Western University, and MBA from INSEAD.
